first day of school goes something like this
okay, so i go there on tuesday, class starts at 9(always!)
and then we just spend the day doing orientation, meeting the teachers, playing games, get your schedule(even though they already gave me an idea of what my schedule might be like) and shit liek that.
it's basically like gr.9 orientation trip to henley island, but apparently this happens every year. for every grade
and it's and early release, we get to go home at 1
yeah it doesn't seem that early, but it is for them because their school ends at 4
which i'm totally okay with, because 3-4 pm when i get home everyday is my lazy hour anyway, and I use that time to check my facebook and
stuff. but now I can just do that in the extra 1.5 hours I have in the morning. Cause I still have to be their by 8:00AM because my aunt has to drive
my little cousin to school which starts at normal time. And she cant come back home and pick me up because it would take forever so she
might as well take us at the same time.
And now i have to explain their school system. They have three semesters instead of two. Because of their longer class times instead of 75 minutes they have 90 minute classes, their semesters end a month earlier than ours.
So, it goes like this 1st semester : sept-dec
2nd semester: jan-apr
3rd semester: may-june
BUT, the way my schedule works out, I don't have any classes in the may-june semester. So I'm not quite sure, but methinks, my summer vacation starts in may? The principal urged me to take another class in the time, but the school costs are by how many courses you take and each course is like roughly $1000 rounded. So I was like fuck that shit.
so our midterm is in october if my calculations are correct. So by the time, I have to fill out university applications, They'll already have my final report card, and not just my midterm. Weird.
My uniform
is a blue vest with the little badge thing, a white polo with the little hudson college badge thing, and we could get the pants from the place or from anywhere else as long as they're tailored and they're blue. So we were looking around in the mall, and we went to various stores, and we eventually got a pair of pants from northern reflections. the granny store, i know..
but they're tailored and blue, and they're freaking comfortable, and the only reason we thought of going into there is because the uniform store lady suggested it. The others were, old navy, winners, talbots?, j.crew(ahaa, I've never seen one in canada, so goodluck)
old navy had some good ones, but none in blue, I didn't even go inside winners(I hate that store to death)
and then I have a fleece sweater for days when we're feeling unformal i guess. but it too is blue and has that stupid badge.
the good thing is that we have like one out of uniform day every month i think? I dunno i wasn't paying attention.
The secretaries name is Rose. and when we went there, she was having kfc for lunch. that was useless information but yeah.
Right now my mom's at bestbuy looking at laptops, because I've begged and begged, and told her how much my aunt's computer sucks.
It's windows xp, but it's shit. their printer is so awesome, it's an hp but crappycomputer+awesome printer=not cool. and they don't even have a word processing program. I'm not planning on doing my essays and various other projects on microsoft wordpad. Their mouse barely works. Their keyboard is like from the stoneage, you can barely type on it. When we went there last summer and spent like a month there, my brother and i downloaded limewire to get music and stuff, and it basically died. We had to get rid of the limewire, so we spent the whole month watching as much mtv and muchmusic as possible. if you want and exact picture of how old this computer is, okay
their USB PORTS, are at the BACK OF THE COMPUTER. when was the last time you saw that.
like the only things they use their computer for are, my uncle plays solitaire on it occasionally, and that's it, my aunt checks her email that nobody sends her stuff on like once a year, and goes on like bbc.com or cnn.com if she misses the news. and my 9 year old cousin just goes on like bratz.com or something, when her eyes arent glued to the television.
They don't really need a computer, they're not computery people, and their daughter's too young to care right now, but given a few years, they will need a new computer, because she'll need it more, and their's will probably be dead by then.
When i'm on the computer, I have like msn open, limewire, soulseek, facebook, myspace, fanfiction, itunes, and i'm charging my ipod or adding more songs on it, uploading pictures from my camera, I might be typing up an essay, or working on a project with wordperfect open, with sheets printing off nonstop. ALL AT THE SAME FREAKING TIME.
I don't think that computer can handle it.
So i've convinced my mom to buy my a laptop
and then I'm getting a cellphone too, and i wanna sign with telus so I can get that top 8 friends thing, and i can have unlimited text and calls, and you guys will be on it. =]
well my mom would have to be on it too, lol.
and then for my birthday, even though I feel bad for asking, because my parents have spent so much money on crap for me this year, but I want a camera, that cool one with the two lenses, and i'll just give my old one to my brother.
Oh and it's already decided that I'm coming home, for the weekend of october the 13th. and that's ten days before my birthday, sooo
I was wondering if I should have a birthday party that weekend.
and I'd invite all you guys. So if I do have one, and you guys wanna come, then you guys will have to book that day off and stuff.
k,sweet?
