so last night i had this dream

I went to the movies right, with a whole bunch of people but i don't remember who they were
and we were watching beauty and the beast??

and then when it got to the part where beast starts abusing belle, I stood up and I was all like, SUPPORT WOMENS RIGHTS, this goes against the charter of rights and freedoms or something
and I pulled this picket sign out of somewhere and people were like STFU
and then the theatre people took me out

and..that's it
I didn't wake up, but that's all I remember, and thank god cause that dream was starting to weird me out

I think law class is getting to my head

so, i haven't posted anything lately

i really want a job at the movie theatre inside the yorkdale
i gave my resume to a friend that works there
and apparently they're hiring right now
so hopefully i'll get hired?

my brother's birthday is on the 24th
so i have to think of something to get him
i can't just blow him off like i usually do
because he actually got me something for my birthday this year
so i was thinking of getting him a subway transfer
i got this idea from my friend, cause when it was her sister's birthday last week she got her a subway transfer
and it has like the time and date on it
so i guess that's kind of neat, cause that day would forever be captured in a keepsake transfer
but that wouldn't be like the whooole gift

i am sporting sparkly yellow nailpolish right now
it's really pretty

things that move me

"Get a life in which you notice the smell of salt water pushing itself on a breeze over the dunes,a life in which you stop and watch how a red-tailed hawk circles over a pond and a stand of pines.Get a life in which you pay attention to the baby as she scowls with concentration when she tries to pick up a Cheerio with her thumb and first finger.
Get a life in which you are not alone.Find people you love, and who love you.And remember that love is not leisure,it is work. Each time I look at my diplima,I remember that I am still a student, still learning every day how to be human.Send an e-mail.Write a letter.Kiss your mom.Hug your dad.
Get a life which you are generous.Look around at the azaleas making fuchsia star bursts in spring;look at a full moon hanging silver in a black sky on a cold night. And realize that life is glorious, and that you have no business taking it for granted.Care so deeply about its goodness that you would have spent on beers in bar and give it to charity.Work in a soup kitchen.Tutor a seventh-grader."

This is from a book called a short guide to happiness or something, my brother showed it to me.

and I just watched I AM LEGEND today
all i have to say is wow.
go and watch it now.
I am convinced that we will bring our downfall(mankind)
it's so sad

ps. what'd you guys all get for christmas?

so, you guys should all be proud of me when you hear this
i finally bought a cardigan, so now i can wear something other than my black blazer on top of everything. lol

and a distant cousin of mine whom i also go to school with recently introduced me to an anime called ouran high school host club. It's possibly like one of the best things i've ever watched. I love it!
but then it finished in 26 episodes
I'm thinking of reading the mangas, but it's just not the same

so if you guys know any other good animes besides bleach and naruto and fruits basket, you should let me know.

oh, and whats this about jamie lynn spears being pregnant?
i didn't even know she was 16
i thought she was like 12, so when i first heard I was shocked..
and my cousin was like OMG is ZOEY 101 gonna be cancelled now?! (tears welling up in eyes)

and if anyone can find out what the name of the song is on that new telus commercial, the one with the fish that form into different shapes like star for stunner, @ sign for networker, lightning bolt for powerhouse, and vinyl record shape for DJ. you know? that commercial..
well I really like the song
and if it's a real song I would like to know what it is
and if you find out, I will be in your debt forever

my life in the past month

I haven't posted anything since the summer
this is sad, especially since i promised that I would update regularily

Okay, so my school is really small
my friends are, countable on one hand
my home is cool
my aunt is nice
my cousin is a brat/kinda cool for a 9 year old
my current computer is crap-tacular
my uncle works at night and sleeps by day, i basically only see him when i come home from school and he's getting ready to go to work. But he is gonna start working during the daylight hours soon
I miss, all of you guys plus more, and my family of course
I miss my rabbit
my bike, i wanted to go on some beautiful autumn bike rides, there's so many trails around where i live.

I want a new camera for my birthday, and my brother can have my old one.
I want to come home for my birthday
I can't wait until Eid on friday

I MIGHT be getting a job at The Children's Place, a kid clothing store, you may or may not have heard/been in it.

I understand how to take the subway now! yay =]
My nails are getting pretty long, time for a clipping, possibly when I get home from school today, If i remember

Oh and I have an orthodontist appointment at 3:00 today and because it takes like an hour to get anywhere in Toronto I have to leave before math class and not come back. Yay

In english all we do is watch movies and write essays about them, it's pretty cool.

So far, we've watched Robin Hood, The Godfather, Freedom Writers, etc.
We're watching Les Miserables next.

OH and the best news of all is, that if I drop french in third semester..my only class.
I get to start my summer vacation in May =D

school!

first day of school goes something like this

okay, so i go there on tuesday, class starts at 9(always!)
and then we just spend the day doing orientation, meeting the teachers, playing games, get your schedule(even though they already gave me an idea of what my schedule might be like) and shit liek that.
it's basically like gr.9 orientation trip to henley island, but apparently this happens every year. for every grade

and it's and early release, we get to go home at 1

yeah it doesn't seem that early, but it is for them because their school ends at 4

which i'm totally okay with, because 3-4 pm when i get home everyday is my lazy hour anyway, and I use that time to check my facebook and

stuff. but now I can just do that in the extra 1.5 hours I have in the morning. Cause I still have to be their by 8:00AM because my aunt has to drive

my little cousin to school which starts at normal time. And she cant come back home and pick me up because it would take forever so she

might as well take us at the same time.

And now i have to explain their school system. They have three semesters instead of two. Because of their longer class times instead of 75 minutes they have 90 minute classes, their semesters end a month earlier than ours.

So, it goes like this 1st semester : sept-dec
                                   2nd semester: jan-apr
                                   3rd semester: may-june

BUT, the way my schedule works out, I don't have any classes in the may-june semester. So I'm not quite sure, but methinks, my summer vacation starts in may? The principal urged me to take another class in the time, but the school costs are by how many courses you take and each course is like roughly $1000 rounded. So I was like fuck that shit.

so our midterm is in october if my calculations are correct. So by the time, I have to fill out university applications, They'll already have my final report card, and not just my midterm. Weird.

My uniform
is a blue vest with the little badge thing, a white polo with the little hudson college badge thing, and we could get the pants from the place or from anywhere else as long as they're tailored and they're blue. So we were looking around in the mall, and we went to various stores, and we eventually got a pair of pants from northern reflections. the granny store, i know..
but they're tailored and blue, and they're freaking comfortable, and the only reason we thought of going into there is because the uniform store lady suggested it. The others were, old navy, winners, talbots?, j.crew(ahaa, I've never seen one in canada, so goodluck)
old navy had some good ones, but none in blue, I didn't even go inside winners(I hate that store to death)

and then I have a fleece sweater for days when we're feeling unformal i guess. but it too is blue and has that stupid badge.

the good thing is that we have like one out of uniform day every month i think? I dunno i wasn't paying attention.

The secretaries name is Rose. and when we went there, she was having kfc for lunch. that was useless information but yeah.

Right now my mom's at bestbuy looking at laptops, because I've begged and begged, and told her how much my aunt's computer sucks.
It's windows xp, but it's shit. their printer is so awesome, it's an hp but crappycomputer+awesome printer=not cool. and they don't even have a word processing program. I'm not planning on doing my essays and various other projects on microsoft wordpad. Their mouse barely works. Their keyboard is like from the stoneage, you can barely type on it. When we went there last summer and spent like a month there, my brother and i downloaded limewire to get music and stuff, and it basically died. We had to get rid of the limewire, so we spent the whole month watching as much mtv and muchmusic as possible. if you want and exact picture of how old this computer is, okay

their USB PORTS, are at the BACK OF THE COMPUTER. when was the last time you saw that.

like the only things they use their computer for are, my uncle plays solitaire on it occasionally, and that's it, my aunt checks her email that nobody sends her stuff on like once a year, and goes on like bbc.com or cnn.com if she misses the news. and my 9 year old cousin just goes on like bratz.com or something, when her eyes arent glued to the television.

They don't really need a computer, they're not computery people, and their daughter's too young to care right now, but given a few years, they will need a new computer, because she'll need it more, and their's will probably be dead by then.

When i'm on the computer, I have like msn open, limewire, soulseek, facebook, myspace, fanfiction, itunes, and i'm charging my ipod or adding more songs on it, uploading pictures from my camera, I might be typing up an essay, or working on a project with wordperfect open, with sheets printing off nonstop. ALL AT THE SAME FREAKING TIME.
I don't think that computer can handle it.

So i've convinced my mom to buy my a laptop

and then I'm getting a cellphone too, and i wanna sign with telus so I can get that top 8 friends thing, and i can have unlimited text and calls, and you guys will be on it. =]
well my mom would have to be on it too, lol.

and then for my birthday, even though I feel bad for asking, because my parents have spent so much money on crap for me this year, but I want a camera, that cool one with the two lenses, and i'll just give my old one to my brother.

Oh and it's already decided that I'm coming home, for the weekend of october the 13th. and that's ten days before my birthday, sooo
I was wondering if I should have a birthday party that weekend.

and I'd invite all you guys. So if I do have one, and you guys wanna come, then you guys will have to book that day off and stuff.

k,sweet?

strange

i honestly love the fall/winter seasons, like from september to early january is quite possible my favourite time of the year.

I love september because it's back to school and you see all the people you know again and it's a fresh beginning, new opportunities to get better grades, do things you didn't do the year before, etc.

I love october because 1)it's my birthday month , that was pretty self explanatory

2)the leaves have started to turn colours at this point and it's quite possibly one of the most beautiful/precious things in the world to me, because when I was little the house I grew up was located in front of a ravine, and that ravine was so breathtaking in the fall. So it's probably the childhood memories that trigger my liking for colourful leaves?

3) I love halloween, just seeing all the "creepy" decorations and people dressing up, and all that candy in those huge bulk packages, what a bargain!

4) the weather has started to turn chilly, I love chilly weather, I hate cold freezing weather like in february, but chilly weather is lovely. Sweaters and jackets, and mittens and scarves, oh my!

I love november because that's when we get midterm report cards, and I always do excellently on those ones, it's the second one that worries me, lol. Also before highschool and midterms, November is traditionally the month I go get new mittens and stuff, and new jackets for winter. And this is also when you can start to see your breath in the air outside.

I love december because it's such a festive month, so so so many holidays, eid !, christmas, hannukah, kawanzaa(spelling?) I love watching christmas movies on tv, and I tend to drink alot of hot chocolate around this time, school is so chilling, we barely do anything in class. CHRISTMAS BREAK, two weeks of relaxation. But knowing exams are around the corner isn't cool. and then NEW YEARS. I haven't been celebrating it these few past years, but we used to, and those parties were pretty sweet. My mom's birthday is also in december. I love wearing dresses in the winter time, and feeling the cold on your legs, and avoiding slush so your dress doesn't get ruined. I love people who have weddings in the winter, because then I can wear a dress and feel the coldness on my legs. I also love(d) going to christmas concerts, and recitals and all that crap. I was in the choir like every year when we lived in Toronto. so I had to go to alot of those..

I also love when it's snowy but not freezing cold. and you just walk outside and it's so quiet in the morning after fresh snow has fallen, or while it's still falling. and the trees are covered in snow(the evergreen ones) and the deciduous trees are all skeletony looking.

and that's why I love this time of year!

-fin

back in the day

a long time ago
I was in love with a magician.

it's true
as ridiculous as it sounds.

!

so, there's this purple leather(doubts it's real leather) purse I wanna get from stitches. It's so pretty. And it has a bow fashioned out of two random leather straps on it. I also wanted these aviators with plastic rims from HM but of course they were sold out. I wanted the brown ones, but they only had the acid green ones left. Acid green with my skin tone would def. not look cool.
actually..i dunno, now that I think about it , it might. But still, I wouldn't be able to wear it with anything. So then today at work, Talia had them!
and I was like , WHERE'D YOU GET THOSE?? hoping she got them from a store besides HM and she was like oh, my friend gave them to me, and she got them from the 80's, and i was like , HUH
is this some store I've never heard of, and she was like NO NO
they're retro, like literally from the 80's
BAHAHA

Oh, and when I go to Toronto next, I'm gonna hit up American Apparel. I've heard from like EVERYONE that it's a pretty snazzy store, and I want to so badly go there, and buy stuff. GAAH.
They should have an Urban Outfitters in Canada. It's like HM, but less swedish and more cool.

I'm in such a materialistic mood right now.

I should spend more on the less needy than on myself. But like, seriously. Everyone knows World Vision and other shit like that only gives like 10% to the children and 90% for themselves. And they all live in like posh mansions and stuff. And apparently the reason why there's always flied crawling all over those kids is because they smear their faces with honey before they start filming.

That bra I bought the other day, is really nice, except for one thing..
the clasp is in the front, very awkward.
DID YOU KNOW, that most men prefer a C-36
I think I read that in the newspaper. Like in the Lifestyles section.

I wanna learn photography. I also want a new camera. There's this new Kodak camera in the v-series, that has like two lenses, for a wider angle, so you don't have to buy a wide angle lens, and I think it's SLR too. but it's small. This year in yearbook, I learned exactly how pathetic my camera was. The zoom capabilities of the school camera(the SLR one) are like amazing. The detail and clarity. When my camera zooms into half that much it gets all blurry and shit. Yeah my camera is definately only for like on the go stuff. I'm trying to convince my family to invest in that supercool camera with the two lenses. So we can take beautiful pictures when we go on vacation and stuff. That's my pitch. memories that you cringe at because of poor quality twenty years later, y'know?

Concert?

k, so I REALLY wanna go see Beyonce in concert at the ACC on wednesday

this would be my first concert, ever..
thing is when I first asked my mom she was all like uhh sure I'll give it some thought
that's usually mom for "i'll let you think you're going when you're really not"
but one can have hope sometimes right?
okay so then I went on the ticketmaster website to scope out some tickets
I cannot find two decently priced tickets at all, cause my brother's coming with me, cause he's like in love with beyonce and isn't really going for the music so much as seeing her strut her stuff on stage. I can find ONE ticket for 65 bucks, but everytime I search up two the only tickets I can find are $115 and that's way too much. It's my fault really..
I shouldn't be looking for tickets this late especially since it's two days from now lol
So then I thought to myself, "heyy, I have a job, I can pay for the ticket, $115 isn't that ridiculous and they're pretty good seats too!" and my brother's been boat holding this whole week for the royal canadian henley regatta, so he's made at least a hundred bucks, and I could pay the difference for him. So I told my mom this, and then she's like, "oh don't even go to the concert, who wants to see that beyonce tramp in a skimpy outfit shaking her ass, it's a waste of money, and you should be focusing your attention on improving your moral character"
yeah, she seriously said that to a sixteen year old. Okay honestly, we were just at the movies watching rush hour 3 where they had this horrible almost sex scene, and we watched that. And i'm not going to see beyonce shaking her ass, reprimand my 14 year old hormonal brother for that, I'm going because I am an appreciator of Beyonce's music. And like seriously, I haven't done ANYTHING this summer. literally. Can't I have just a little fun, and oh ,maybe go to my first concert ever?! at the too old age of 16.

I srsly hope I get to go. If not, I'm seeing Justin Timberlake in September, at least then I can get good tickets, and plan it out more. I'm not one for spontaneity, at least when it's something as important as this.

strawberry kiwi crystal light

so, I just downed a whole 500 mL bottle of strawberry kiwi crystal light. I'm pretty tankish,
actually I didn't "down" it, I casually sipped away at it as I made this new livejournal!

So when was the last time I went on livejournal, hmm
I'd have to say like 3 years ago, when I first made one and it was hideous, and I basically gave up on it. BUT I visited you guys' lj's on occasion.
and left anonymous comments.

Now that I'm more internet savvy, I can find layouts to make my livejournal unhideous.

yay..

OH, okay so apparently our poor like third cousins four times removed that live in war torn Somalia have been lying to us all these years.
They told us that they were all half dead from starvation, so we sent them money every few months. Well recently they made the sad mistake of sending us a picture. YOU KNOW WHAT They're all the picture of health, and they're all wearing nice clothes, and they don't look like starving orphans at all. Those bitches. And we called up reliable sources that live near them, and apparently the mother has a booming business in pastry making..
and that she's been using our money to redecorate their house.
yeah well, nice knowing you , you good for nothing assholes. That's the last time you get a money order from us.
They think that just because they're across an ocean and a continent that they can scam us. we'll just find some other poor third cousins that need our help more than you. Better yet, I'll just sponsor a child on world vision, or I'll just adopt some poor kid from Mali like Madonna did.

I think I'm gonna go to the library tomorrow
I need to return some books on life in ancient china, for my history essay from back in June. Apparently the library people called and they're gonna put me in bad credit if I don't return those books soon. Can they do that? I thought you had to be of legal age to get put in bad credit. I'm definitely only sixteen.
Whatever, I'll put the books through the little slot, and then use my mom's library card when I check out more books. That way they won't give me an evil look when I bring back the two months overdue books and take out some more.

So, I'm gonna go to bed now. I can feel myself starting to ramble.
